From sketch to colors #1
Just something to keep you guys interested in this "updated-once-a-year" blog...
This a piece I did for Wizard magazine, and it appearead even before first issue of the comic by MVCreations was published.
Mattel really liked the piece but it was printed really small on the magazine.
I thought it was nice to give it some justice posting a step by step progress, from the montage of sketches to the pencils, the final inks and the awesome colors by Val Staples!
Of course, keep in mind this is an early piece, so there are lots of bad things in my anatomy and style, but I thought it was fun piece to share.
I hope you enjoy it!

Anche se poi ci va il colore il passaggio a chine non crea piani diversi e risulta piatta...anche a colori l'immagine e' piatta.
Matita cmq sempre pulita ed elegante come ti ricordavo dalla scuola del fumetto
Mmm, okay, non credevo di aver fatto un lavoro così pessimo con le chine anche considerato che è una delle cose più vecchie.
Sui colori di Val non ho nulla da obiettare, ma forse intendi dire che non salvano l'immagine.. vabbè ;-)
Anzi per dirla tutta quello è uno dei pezzi che convinse la Mattel a darmi il ruolo di lead penciler sulla serie, comunque a me non sembra poi così piatto, ma de gustibus...
Tra parentesi, sono contento anche io di risentirti Fabio :-P
